Self-injury

Self-injury is about purposely hurting your body, without trying to kill yourself. It comes from a very painful place. People who self-injure are trying to deal with a lot of overwhelming emotions. Many people who self-injure say that hurting themselves gives them an immediate sense of relief.

I hurt myself badly

If you have just self-injured and you are badly hurt or bleeding a lot, call 9-1-1. If you’re scared to call, try calling someone you trust, or call Kids Help Phone: 1-800-668-6868. We can call for an ambulance for you, or help you calm down. You don’t have to handle this on your own.
