If you’re thinking about coming out, it can help to hear from other young people who have been through this experience. Click below to read stories from other young people about what it was like for them to come out.
These stories were submitted by young people on the Kids Help Phone website. We received a lot of stories, and although we can't put all of them on our site for space reasons, we appreciate all of the responses that were received!
Coming out shouldn't be necessary

It Gets Better, Even If It Starts Off Good!!

If you identify as LGBTQ and are thinking about coming out, or have come out to other people in your life, we hope these stories will help to show you that you’re not alone.
If you identify as an ally (someone who does not identify as LGBTQ themselves but supports people who do), we hope these stories will help you learn about what it’s like to be LGBTQ. This could help you to be more understanding and supportive to people who identify in this way.
