Break down barriers. End the Stigma.
“I’ve struggled with my mental health for a long time. But when I called Kids Help Phone for the first time, I realized I wasn’t alone anymore. I want every young person who struggles with mental health to know that it can get better. That’s why I’m helping other young people as a member of Kids Help Phone’s National Youth Council!” – Julia Caddy, National Youth Council member
There are so many reasons a young person might not ask for help. The stigma surrounding seeking help, especially for mental health issues, can be paralyzing.
But that’s just not right. Every kid deserves a safe, non-judgemental place to find support when they need it. For so many youth, Kids Help Phone is that safe space.
But we can’t do it alone. We need advocates like you, and Julia – to stand up for youth.
Stigma is powerful. It can stop a young person from reaching out. But your support is even more powerful. And today, you can help a kid who feels alone, who has suffered in silence, find the help they need to move forward.
It will take every one of us working together to break down the stigma of seeking help. Thank you for being a part of this movement!
