Neville MacKay is a highly talented retailer and floral designer who is well known throughout the Floral Industry and beyond for his creative flare, quality workmanship and entertaining personality. He is affectionately referred to as “That Bloomin’ Neville!” (Among other things!)
Neville appears as an expert and entertainer on many national and local TV and radio shows across Canada and is sought-after internationally as an expert presenter. Neville also owns and operates a cutting-edge floral and retail gift shop in Halifax, My Mother’s Bloomers, with his partner of 25 years.
Besides running the shop, Neville also hosts tours to the UK, and has taken the stage across Canada and beyond as emcee, auctioneer, host and Keynote Speaker, artfully telling his story along with the magic of making those in his presence feel inspired, connected and entertained. His philanthropy work has led to him receiving many awards, including a commendation from the Nova Scotia Lt. Governor. He has designed floral arrangements for celebrities and Heads of State, including Rod Stewart, Glen Close, Sirs Elton John and Paul McCartney and members of the British Royal Family. Neville writes for and his work has been featured in many publications internationally, (has written a book!) and is an accredited Floral Judge World Flower Council.
Mostly, Neville LOVES flowers, and loves to share their power and beauty with everyone he can.
David MacFarlane is one of Halifax’s consummate performers and entertainers. He is a powerful vocalist and guitarist, with a variety of genres in his repertoire from classical to folk, Maritime-inspired and beyond, as well as having the ability to engage audiences with stories of life, entertainment and inspiration. As one of Halifax’s finest hair stylists, David has shown to the world his love of the arts and his ability to communicate and showcase the beauty in the world, whether with his shears or his guitar.
David began his musical journey years ago through the Halifax Music Program, which gave him the great drive and passion he still possesses. Even at an early age, David loved performing, and by the age of twelve, his talents were recorded on two albums. David has performed across Canada and the USA, on stages, television and radio.
More recently, David performed for several events at Government House including the Nova Scotia Lt. Governor’s Annual Garden Party, and as a guest performer for their Lecture Series. His talents as a vocalist/guitarist were also recently heard on the Tall Ship Marr Two, and he has performed as well for the American Consulate event at the Maritime Museum of the Atlantic. He performs Holiday music annually for Spring Garden Place (what a treat to have while shopping!) and has worked for many years with Murphy’s on the Water, performing for their guests.
From classical or inspiring music to Maritime Folk, (or just wait ‘til you listen to his original melodies!) David puts his heart and soul in all he does. Those who know this well-polished professional or have seen David perform can tell you that you are in for a treat! His wit and charm marries well with his abundant musical talents, so whether he is hosting, emceeing or spreading his musical love, guests will be guaranteed to leave his performances with a smile.
