We Need to Talk: An evening to talk, listen and take action

Communities mobilized

In November, our founding partners — Bell, BMO, Nestlé Canada and Parmalat Canada — came together for an unforgettable evening of conversation about the state of youth mental health in Canada today, 30 years after they first joined forces to help launch Kids Help Phone.

Welcoming guests from across Canada, the event — called We Need to Talk — gave a platform to two ambassadors, Matthew Ravida and Jenifer Brousseau, whose own lives were changed many years ago when they reached out in moments of need. Matthew and Jenifer shared their stories and encouraged those in the room to deepen their support, inspiring guests and founders alike.

We extend our deepest gratitude to all those who joined us for an evening to talk about youth mental health and what each of us can do to create a future in which every young person in Canada has access to the support they need, when they need it.

As Kathy Hay, President and CEO, said that night:

I ask you to please keep talking. Because kids will, and we will.
