Event overview

Kick-start the holiday season with a fun-filled weekend of holiday décor inspiration! Kids Help Phone Homes for the Holidays is a two-day seasonal self-guided home tour and fundraiser that has become an annual tradition.

We are pleased to be hosting the 15th annual Homes for the Holidays, where professional interior designers team up with home décor retailers and florists to adorn four beautiful homes on the Vancouver Westside and three luxurious homes in West Vancouver — in styles ranging from contemporary to traditional to modern — with unique displays of holiday decorating that promise to inspire the festive spirit and help make your holiday season memorable.

Enjoy the opportunity to meet with local designers, architects and mingle at the Jingle Bell Café (provided by Meinhardt Fine Foods).

Local homeowners, designers, retail stores and countless volunteers generously give their time and talent to make this event a huge success. We would like to thank each one of you for your support.

Kids Help Phone is Canada’s only 24/7 national service offering bilingual (English and French) professional counselling, information and referrals and volunteer-led, text-based support to young people. Since 1989, Kids Help Phone has shown up for youth in distress. As an organization that speaks with young people every day, Kids Help Phone works to share their perspectives and improve their emotional health and well-being. Kids Help Phone is a registered Canadian charity and we raise a majority of our revenue from individuals, foundations, corporations and community fundraising.

Lindsay Eby Interiors — Lindsay Eby

Lindsay’s love of interior design began at a young age. Born into a family of successful contractors in northern BC, she was exposed to the industry from day one.

Starting her design career in 2001 at a high-end mill work company, Lindsay has cultivated a skill set encompassing the practical, technical & creative aspects of the design industry. She applies her deep construction knowledge, innate design sensibilities & exceptional space planning skills to each and every project.

Lindsay often hears from her clients that she cares more about their homes than they do! It is this obvious passion for her work that gains the trust & confidence of her clients, paving the way for a truly collaborative, creative & fun design process.

Myriam Freedman Designs — Myriam Freedman

Myriam began her career as a fashion stylist working for Vancouver Magazine and other creative accounts before combining her love for feeding people and dreaming up recipes into a successful bakery, run jointly with her husband, for over 15 years.

A realized passion for residential real estate and renovating led to the formation of Myriam Freedman Designs, which brings over a decade of experience in the fields of project management and interior design.

Her work has been published in Gray Magazine and Western Living and she has had multiple projects nominated for Georgie Awards. She believes that everyone is deserving of a beautiful and functional home, and especially enjoys helping her clients achieve spaces that reflect their own unique lifestyle. Myriam considers it a privilege to be able to engage herself creatively for a living and is constantly striving for new ways to be inspired.

Knight | Varga Interiors — Trish Knight & Nicole Varga

This newly formed interior design studio is the collaboration of two long-time friends and designers Trish Knight and Nicole Varga.

Our projects span the globe – we create beautiful livable spaces from Vancouver to California, New York and as far away as Singapore. Our approachable style is undeniably rooted in a West Coast aesthetic, producing interiors that are both timeless and elegant.

We love to work collaboratively with our clients to create homes that reflect the values, lifestyle and sensibilities of the people who inhabit them. Much of our inspiration is drawn from the relationships we develop with our clients and we are lucky enough to often design multiple homes for generations of the same family.

We are so proud to be a part of Homes for the Holidays 2019 and helping to raise awareness and funds for Kids Help Phone.

Gillian Segal Design — Gillian Segal
Gillian has always had a passion for design. Watching her parents build their first family home, she quickly realized that thoughtful design can have a profoundly positive impact on quality of life. After completing her Bachelor of Arts Degree, Gillian pursued her true passion for design by attending B.C.I.T’s Interior Design program and graduated magna cum laude. After earning her CID and working with some of Vancouver’s top design firms, Gillian decided to start her eponymous design firm.

She describes her personal style as, “Modern, eclectic glamour”. Inspired by her travels and love for design of decades past, Gillian loves blending the old and the new.

Gillian is also an interior design contributor & writer for

Kalu Interiors — Aleem Kassam & Phyllis Lui

Partners Aleem Kassam and Phyllis Lui met while attending The Art Institute of Vancouver. Through all the late night cramming sessions and last minute art store runs, the duo quickly realized how much better they were together than apart. In 2007, they decided to make their friendship an official business partnership. Their new firm name Kalu would be derived from their surnames, Kassam and Lui (KA-LU). While they both have very unique styles and sensibilities for design, the pair share an undeniable passion for interior design. It’s this passion that has led them to understand the importance of personal style and space for their clients’ homes. Inspiring, beautiful, aspirational, unique, individual — all qualities they feel an environment should reflect.

We have proudly hosted Homes for the Holidays for a number of years. Check out our photo gallery to see what our designers have come up with on past tours.
