Linda Schuyler and Stephen Stohn: Lifelong advocates for youth across Canada
United by a passion for youth mental health and years of leadership supporting young people through Kids Help Phone (KHP) and Trent University, Linda Schuyler and Stephen Stohn have made a transformational $1 million gift to launch a groundbreaking partnership between the two organizations.
As co-creators and executive producers behind the multi-award-winning “Degrassi” TV franchise, Linda and Stephen have helped shape how young people navigate their feelings and experiences for more than four decades. Through their contributions to KHP and Trent — including Stephen’s role as Chancellor of Trent and Linda’s leadership on Trent’s Momentous Campaign and KHP’s Feel Out Loud Campaign — they’ve made a meaningful difference for generations of young people.
Now, Linda and Stephen are powering a partnership that will improve access to mental health support for students. Their generosity will help unlock the hope young people need to thrive in their world.
Rooted in the shared belief that no young person should have to manage challenges on their own, this partnership will bring together KHP’s digital tools and Trent’s campus-based services to advance a new accessible, responsive model of student mental health support.
This initiative will support student well-being at Trent while creating a powerful model that can be replicated on campuses across Canada.
We extend our deepest gratitude to Linda and Stephen, and to our partners at Trent, for their inspiring vision and generosity. Together, we can be there for students from coast to coast to coast, for every feeling, at any time of day or night. Because help means everything.
