We Rise: A Black Engagement Program

As part of RiseUp: Kids Help Phone’s Action plan for supporting Black Youth, we’re creating a Canada-wide network of volunteer Champions in African, Caribbean and Black communities to connect youth to resources and critical supports from Kids Help Phone and our partner.

Champions

Eligibility:

  • African, Caribbean or Black Youths
  • Individuals 15 years and older with strong connections to the Black community

Responsibilities:

  • build awareness of Kids Help Phone service and other mental health support services in your community
  • increase access to community resources to ensure resources in your community that support youth mental, emotional, physical and spiritual well-being are included in Kids Help Phone’s Resources Around Me database
  • provide ongoing input on Kids Help Phone’s Black youth indicatives
  • connect during times of crisis to help discuss how we can connect youth in your community with immediate support
  • engage on the Peer-to-Peer community by reading and responding to posts by youth (for youth only)
