RBC Foundation has been a dedicated partner of Kids Help Phone since 2008. In recent years, the organization’s visionary gifts have accelerated our innovation trajectory as we seek to transform the landscape of youth mental health support in Canada.

Through RBC Future Launch, RBC Foundation became a founding donor of Kids Help Phone’s texting service in 2017 — a ground breaking innovative service that leverages artificial intelligence and machine learning to triage conversations based on severity and risk, helping to enable us to respond to the highest acuity cases in seconds.

In 2020, RBC Foundation supported Kids Help Phone’s emergency COVID-19 response when we were experiencing a record surge in demand. They also recognized the urgent need to build a more efficient, effective and accessible mental health care option for young people in Canada. The organization came forward with a gift of $1.2 million in support of our Multi-Modal E-Mental Health Platform — a first-of-its-kind innovation that will integrate our clinical services onto a single platform.

The platform will help ensure that every young person reaching out for mental health support can receive the level of care they need at the very moment they need it. It will also help to significantly enhance our overall service capacity, making it even more possible for Kids Help Phone to achieve 30 million connections with young people between 2018 and 2024.

We extend our deepest gratitude to RBC Foundation for their long-time partnership and courageous investments in the mental health and well-being of young people across Canada.

“We recognize the importance of well-being on a young person’s ability to thrive, including in workplaces, schools and communities. Through our important partnership with Kids Help Phone on the Multi-Modal platform, we will help address the barriers often faced by young people when trying to access the supports they need. We could not be more proud to be a key partner in this game changing development.”
