The Innovation Centre at Kids Help Phone, supported by Bell
Kids Help Phone built one of the world’s largest datasets on youth mental health from conversations with youth. And we’re leveraging our data to help build a stronger, more effective mental health landscape for the young people of Canada.
In 2020, we launched Kids Help Phone Insights — a first-of-its-kind data platform sharing up-to-date information about how young people across Canada are interacting with our services. Protecting the privacy and trust of young people is our number one priority. All information shared on Kids Help Phone Insights is aggregated and anonymous, and we’ve put a number of protocols in place to help protect service users’ privacy.
The Innovation Centre at Kids Help Phone, supported by Bell will house our leading-edge work to integrate all of Kids Help Phone’s services onto one platform, build an omnichannel stepped care ecosystem of supports and leverage data insights to inform new services. Through a combination of youth engagement, rapid prototyping and UX design, we’ll have the ability and capacity to develop more services and technology, just like a tech start-up.
With your investment, we can harness the power of data to inform proactive support and influence programs and policy to radically change the entire mental health system.
FUNDING ENABLES:
- building the data hub, including establishing a staff team and data policies
- developing the technology infrastructure needed to integrate all services onto a single platform (a Multi-Modal Platform)
- launching and evolving the stepped care model, which will allow youth to better navigate our ecosystem of supports and connect with the services they uniquely need
- development of new platforms, integrations and innovations, such as multi-session counselling

Our goal is to influence and positively impact the systems that contribute to mental health challenges for young people.
