Welcome to the Volunteer Hub for Weaving Threads: An Indigenous Engagement Program! This page is your starting point for accessing resources to support your volunteer journey and information about our programs and services.
This is a private page made specially for volunteers, and we hope you’ll use it frequently. Thank you again for volunteering as a Kids Help Phone Weaving Threads Champion or Ambassador! By volunteering your time, you’re helping to support the mental, emotional, physical and spiritual well-being of youth in your community and across Canada.
We’d love to hear from you! If you need to get in touch to ask a question, request outreach materials or an attestation of volunteer hours, provide feedback or share any suggestions, you can send a message to: [email protected].
The first barrier Indigenous youth face in accessing Kids Help Phone services is awareness — approximately half of Indigenous young people in Canada don’t know about our services. As a Champion or Ambassador, you have the opportunity and resources to connect youth in your community with the support they need.
Kids Help Phone maintains Canada’s largest online database of mental health and support resources for youth, with over 26,000 vetted community services and growing every day. This database, known as Resources Around Me, allows young people to search for resources in their communities.
Would you like to recommend a resource for inclusion in Resources Around Me? You can use the link below to tell us about it! KidsHelpPhone.ca/SubmitResources.
The Peer-to-Peer Community at Kids Help Phone is a collection of online support forums, where youth can share their personal experiences, offer inspiration and ask questions to connect, comfort and cheer each other on. You can seek out Indigenous-specific threads in the “Your Communities” section of the service!
Brighter Days: An Indigenous Wellness Program supported by Sun Life was developed by Indigenous experts to empower First Nations, Inuit and Métis youth with skills, tools and resources to support their well-being. The program is offered to any group of Indigenous youth from six to 29 years old in both audio and video format.
Get information about how your thoughts, feelings and behaviours are connected and what you can do to care for your well-being. Learning about mental health can help empower you with the language to communicate how you’re feeling.
Practise with tools, tips and resources to help build your skills and improve your wellness in the way that feels best for you. Learn how to identify your strengths, communicate thoughts and feelings, overcome obstacles and connect with support.

Support forums & real-life stories
Explore lived experiences from other young people across Canada. Learn from real-life youth stories, gain new ideas and ask questions to connect and inspire your own wellness journey.
If you need help right now, you can talk to a trained volunteer crisis responder about anything you're going through. No issue is too big or too small.
If you identify as Indigenous, you can ask to be connected with a First Nations, Inuk or Métis crisis responder (if one’s available) by messaging FIRST NATIONS, INUIT or METIS to 686868.
