Supporting First Nations, Inuit and Métis young people

Kids Help Phone is working hard to ensure that we are doing everything we can to support Indigenous young people.

We know it takes courage to talk to someone about what’s on your mind. It helps when counsellors and volunteer Crisis Responders understand what life can be like for Indigenous youth. That’s why we’re continuously learning about the wonderful diversity among Indigenous young people and the unique realities of life in urban, rural and remote communities.

We’re also expanding the number of Indigenous-focused community services in our Resources Around Me database. We’re working with Indigenous partners to reduce barriers to accessing our services so we can ensure every First Nations, Inuit and Métis young person across Canada can access immediate confidential support, without judgment, wherever and whenever they need it most.

Under the leadership of our Indigenous Advisory Council, we’re implementing Finding Hope: Kids Help Phone’s Action Plan for Supporting First Nations, Inuit and Métis Young People.
