Kids Help Phone’s supporters share their reasons for rallying behind young people in Canada.

Getting involved can give you a sense of fulfilment and make you feel good about how you spend your time. You also have the chance to make a difference in the lives of young people across Canada. We asked some of our supporters why they decided to get involved with Kids Help Phone. Here’s what they said:

“I heard about Kids Help Phone via our high school counsellors and educators. It was important to them to let us know we can talk about any topic in our lives. I support Kids Help Phone because I believe it’s so important that children and youth in Canada have a safe and comfortable place to go to speak about any problem in life.”
— Stephen, Kids Help Phone Ambassador

“I support Kids Help Phone because I believe no kid should ever have to face issues on their own, as I know what it’s like to face challenges on your own and be scared to reach out for help.”
— Shay, Kids Help Phone volunteer

“As a Kids Help Phone employee, volunteer and donor, and as an adoring aunt, I’m passionate about ensuring young people always have someone they can talk to. Seeing our professional counsellors in action and speaking with people who have benefitted from Kids Help Phone, I have the utmost confidence in our work. Getting involved makes me feel like I’m making a difference for kids.”
— Melanie, Kids Help Phone employee

“I was inspired to support Kids Help Phone after hearing a presentation by a local Kids Help Phone staff member. At the time, Sobeys was looking for a local champion in the Moncton area and I leapt at the opportunity! I was single and had no kids but felt an emotional connection to youth and the support that Kids Help Phone could provide them.

I have been a very active volunteer, supporting the Walk by providing volunteer support to the committee, financial support through fundraising at my local Sobeys stores, as well as being a ‘face’ in the community.

This year I am a member of the Moncton Walk Committee, but beyond this work I am focusing on the fundraising efforts of my staff at the Sobeys stores throughout the Moncton, Riverview and Dieppe area.”
— Natasha, Kids Help Phone supporter
