Kids Help Phone (KHP) and the Bob Rumball Canadian Centre of Excellence for the Deaf (BRCCED) believe in a future where every young person in Canada can have equitable access to mental health and well-being support. On this page, Deaf youth and Deaf communities across the country can explore some information and resources — including five videos on wellness topics in American Sign Language (ASL) — to discover reminders they’re never alone.

According to the BRCCED, Deaf youth in Canada can experience challenges when attempting to access mental health services and resources. Supports designed without Deaf people in mind can be a contributing factor to these challenges.
KHP is dedicated to advancing Inclusion, Diversity, Equity and Accessibility (IDEA) through our programs, services and more. To help address the barriers some Deaf people face, KHP and the BRCCED are collaborating to increase access to mental health supports and information for Deaf youth in Canada.
You can press play on the videos throughout this page to watch interpretations of its sections in ASL.

Emergency support for Deaf youth
If you are — or someone you know is — in immediate danger, you can contact the emergency / community services nearest your area. Deaf youth can learn more about T9-1-1 — a service for Deaf folks seeking emergency support that’s available in some communities across Canada — and its privacy policy by navigating to TextWith911.ca.
KHP would like to thank the Bob Rumball Canadian Centre of Excellence for the Deaf for supporting Deaf youth and their mental health and well-being across Canada!
