I’m constantly cornered,
Like a dragon in the comfort of my own cave,
Held responsible for crimes others condemned me too,
Cornered against the rocky walls,
Being pocked and prodded with pitchforks and daggers,
They started staring, pointing, whispering,
and expected me to stay,
But when they turn me into an interloper,
They dictated this was THEIR home,
Yet, I was born here long before them ,
Forced to be the child,
Watched in a museum for all to stare,
Asked me what I did
I never know what to say
To blame them or myself for taking action?
Their eyes staring blankly at me in wonder from beyond the glass wall,
My cave turned into tunnels where all can enter,
My wings weakened,
Throat went dry,
Smoke exits,
Nothing makes me the same powerful creature I once was,
Nothing is real, it all fake plastic bits i was given for ‘entertainment’
Trapped as if in a circus,
I am a dragon once free to fly,
But my wings have cracks and holes, no thread, no needle can repair
I eat, lay, sit, stare at a wall.
While they watch, hands frozen,
They walk free, while i remain cadged,
And still, they do nothing.
They’re more caged than I am.
