Inner World
This is a self-portrait collage that represents my inner and outer world. Getting inspiration from outside and keeping it a secret so that it remains special and personal to me.
The left side is the beautiful environment while the right side is vulnerable and showing complexity and mystery underneath.
This experience was very familiar during childhood, but I’ve felt increasingly disconnected as an adult. I hope to keep what I love as sacred, allowing it to remain unique and at peace, rather than comparing it with others in an unsettled mind. It’s easy to feel alienated when exposed to the Internet or public spaces, especially without a familiar community. Today, there are many labels and categories that weren’t necessary in childhood. I want to return to the richness of a childhood mind—not the ‘simplicity’ people often mention, which I don’t relate to—and see the world without shallow concepts or judgments.
(BTW, items to make the collage were from a community program.)
