Another name added
to a list that should not exist.
Another Black life lost,
another family left searching for answers.
And we have to ask ourselves:
if Nolan wasn’t black,
if the people who came back without him were black,
would the world be this quiet?
Would the questions be louder?
Would the search be bigger?
Would everyone demand the truth?
We remember the Central Park Five
a reminder of how quickly the world can judge,
how differently stories can be treated.
A young Black life should never be worth less attention.
Never worth less urgency.
Never worth less justice.
Because Nolan was not just a headline.
He was a person.
And we cannot keep letting our young Black men disappear
while the world waits to care.
