The mirror is my Heart, but I am my Soul

Who, truly, do you see me to be?
Lazy, am I? But I am also
Me, am I not?
I could just be the reflection in the mirror, but I’m not;
I am a story, ingrained in the heart,
I am the wing of a bird, I know I must fly,
I am the songbirds, my tune etched into
The whispering leaves of the ever-knowing tree,
I am what you see me to be, but
You are what I see you to be.
So who truly sees?
Reality has its eyes open yet closed at the same time, so it clearly can’t be
The one who sees, right?
So it’s Life, the universal spectator, who chooses to settle into the sky,
And after all that’s been said and done, when I stare at the piece of glass,
That asks me for my name, I know that
I am Alive, yes, but
I will be Dead at the end of Life, and it will be
Peaceful, because I will not have chosen it.
