Body Dysmorphia

Some days the mirror feels like a liar.
It points out things
no one else seems to notice
and calls them flaws.
I compare myself to ghosts,
to versions of people
that don’t even exist,
and somehow I always come up short.
But my body is not a problem to fix.
It’s a place I live.
And even on the days I don’t love it,
I’m learning to treat it with kindness
because it’s been carrying me
through everything.
