Strong Black Woman

The label of “Strong Black Woman” carries both power and burden. While it celebrates resilience, it also minimizes the pain and struggles of Black women. I created this digital portrait as a way of reclaiming that narrative. It is a reminder for myself and other Black women that our mental health matters. It is okay for us to admit when we are struggling because while we might be strong, we are human nonetheless.
